This is one of the older Jewish delicatessens, right in the heart of Queens! They have delicious, piling portions of food, and their matzo ball soup never fails to warm me up! Great bowl of comfort at any time of the year, and especially in the cold!
I'm on a seefood diet. I see food, and I eat it.
Mile End Deli is an amazing Jewish Deli in the heart of Brooklyn that serves up smoked meat à la Schwartz's in Montreal. But they also have a delicious matzo ball soup that will warm up you in the chill of winter!

This is a classic New York diner and pretty much everything about this place will warm you up during the winter. As the name implies, it's definitely a cozy atmosphere inside and their menu is about a mile long with all kinds of classic diner fare. As far as soups, they are really well known for their split pea and french onion. Both are excellent options during the cold winter months.
If you like it then you shoulda put sriracha on it
This East Village Viet joint has fabulous bowls of warming pho. It looks like a very unassuming place but it is definitely one of the hidden dining gems of the EV.

Hale & Hearty is quick, cheap and all around the city. Their soups are always delicious and constantly rotating (with daily menus changing every day!). They have gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options available for those with dietary restrictions. Each soup comes with a slice of bread or crackers. Hale and Hearty also has a good selection of freshly made sandwiches and a salad bar for the especially healthy eater. With deals that let you combine a soup with half a sandwich and their soup rewards card, it's easy to save money at this spot. Make sure to ask for a free sample if you're unsure about purchasing a certain flavor of soup!
