perfected the art of eating
Jean-Georges, by the world-famous chef of the same name, had 3 michelin stars in 2015. Jean George is an incredibly influential chef and highly successful restauranteur that has also opened the likes of The Inn at Pound Ridge, ABC Kitchen and Simply Chicken at MSG (among others). The restaurant that bears his namesake is perhaps his most renowned effort, and is among the finest of the fine dining experiences New York City has to offer. They do have a two-course prix fixe option that's less expensive, but you would be doing yourself a disservice not to order the tasting menu if you have the opportunity to come here.

Queens native, freelance writer, food obsessed
This is one of the finest meals I've ever had in New York, and David Bouley has been at the top of the NYC restaurant scene for almost thirty years. It consistently shows up in food publications among people's top choices of 'where I'd eat for my last meal'. It's New French inspired cuisine and fine dining done at it's very best. This is formal dining, so guys should be prepared to wear jackets.
Daniel, by renowned French chef Daniel Boulud, is one of the few ultra-hyped restaurants that exceeded my expectations. It's the flagship of Daniel Boulud's restaurant group, which has also opened the likes of DBGB Kitchen & Bar, Bar Boulud and Boulud Sud. The attention to detail in their service, preparation and presentation of food and to the overall dining experience is world-class. The 7-course tasting menu is the way to go if you are dining at Daniel for the first time.

Graffiti is known for it's eclectic menu, and it was the first restaurant of chef Jehangir Mehta opened in 2007. He's been on most of the celeb-chef programs including Iron Chef and Martha Stewart Living, and has worked alongside other big names like Rocco DiSpirito and Jean-George. This place is not pretentious or stuffy, and feels more like you're dining in Mehta's home. It's also one of the less expensive celeb-chef restaurants around despite having (in my opinion) some of the most exquisite food in the city. They have a simple menu that's made for sharing, and you can expect to spend $30-40 per person before tax, tip, beverages, etc.
Cheap eats to fine dining and everything in between
Annisa is owned and operated by Anita Lo, a classically trained chef who is highly respected across the country and also author of one of my favorite cookbooks, Cooking Without Borders. She's been on Top Chef, Iron Chef and a lot of the major foodie television shows. The Asian-accented cuisine and experience at Annisa is charming, and since it's not quite as expensive as most celebrity chef restaurants, it's worth every penny.
