The distinguishing factor of Panna II is it's excitedly festive Christmas tree and chili pepper lights. Especially beautiful at night, Panna II is an Indian restaurant unlike any other. Not only can you BYOB, but the food is cheap, delicious and traditional. Panna II puts a unique spin on date night with it's eccentric decoration and unique atmosphere. The restaurant fills up quickly, so make sure to get there early or call ahead to make a reservation (6+).

Native New Yorker... I know what's good around here
I'm surprised by the number of people I talk to who have not heard of Poke, which makes me think of it as one of the most underrated sushi places in NYC. It's moderately priced and I find it comparable in quality to much higher priced sushi like Blue Ribbon. They have tons of unique rolls, and I highly recommend the truffle and red dragon. This is definitely a good date spot, and also one you don't have to break the bank considering they are BYOB.
If you like it then you shoulda put sriracha on it
Estancia is a very cute Argentinian, Italian inspired place in Tribeca with a personable staff and friendly, intimate atmosphere. There's lots of things I'd recommend this place for-- brunch, lunch or a drink + light fare. It's a great place for a date no matter the situation though, and they have great flatbread pizzas and paella. They are BYOB, though they charge a $20 corking fee. The wine list is also really reasonably priced if you just want a glass of wine or two.
