The Hanger Tartare from Pearl & Ash is an artwork in itself. With a splash of yellow sauce across the plate decorated by thin pieces of toast and small chucks of beef. Pearl & Ash is a wine bar and small-plate location with not-so-cheap prices. But, the atmosphere is always exciting and the food insanely good. The eatery is also conveniently located by the New Museum and could make a great end to a day viewing art.

Estela is one of many places in NYC to find a terrific steak tartare. Albeit a little expensive at $17 a plate, Estela's beef tartare is worth every penny. The sunchoke added to the meal provides a satisfying crunch, and the citrus taste of the meat lingers long after you've finished. If that's not enough to draw you in, Estela was also the chosen restaurant of President Obama's date night while in the city in September 2014.

Every time I go, I'm surprised how delicious Takashi's take on steak tartar is. Hand cut top quality steak with a hint of sesame topped with a quail egg mixed table side. Goodness
