New York City
Wine Director at La Sirena
As the name implies, there is no shortage of delicious food to truly feast on in this East Village spot. For one thing, if you're looking for dinner spots somewhere on a weekend, you probably have plans to go out afterwards. Feast is Right by Union Square, the East Village and Washington Square, putting you in a prime spot to head over to huge selection of bars, clubs, or whatever else you're keen on. But, at the end of the day the food is what matters. Feast has a warm, inviting kind of hunting-lodge feel to the interior and they serve up comforting food composed in thoughtful ways. The menu always has a specific Chef's feast, which is a 3 course dinner for 59 per person featuring a straightforward, but always delicious array of selections. However, you're always invited to pick out a wide variety of dishes from the a la carte section and they will course things out for you in your own, personalized feast way. These are both great options, but I would say if you are really rolling out with a crew for a night out on the town, there's one option you should consider. Feast offers a whole hog preparation with an 8 guest minimum, and while you have to call in advance (5 days notice at least), the pig with all of the fixins is an absurdly indulgent, but insanely delicious meal. There is a large farmhouse table in the back that can accommodate a large number of guests, so if you're planning some kind of party with all of your friends or just a random shenanigan-filled night with your crew, Feast is the way to go to fill up before your night on the town. Make sure you say hello to one of the owners Brian Ghaw, he will almost certainly be there (the man works like crazy, but always has a smile), and I dare say he is one of the hardest working young restaurant owners in the city I know.
If you like it then you shoulda put sriracha on it
Have you had the suckling pig at the breslin? I've thought about doing this with a group of friends but wondering if you have any opinion on whichi s better.
