My father is a huge fan of anything BBQ, and last year I surprised him by taking him to Mable's Smokehouse in Brooklyn. We were surprised by the authenticity of the food. It was some of the best we'd had outside of the South. The ribs were smokey, and the side of mac and cheese perfectly complemented the ribs with its creaminess. Mable's, I later found out, is owned by a married duo from the South who uses family recipes in their restaurant. Mable's is moderately priced, truly delicious and even offers vegetarian options. It's got everything you could ever want for a Father's Day BBQ in the city. Make sure to book a table a head of time as this spot has become even more popular in the past few years.

Its an unlimited brazilian steakhouse. What more do I need to say? When you sit, you waiter gives you a little round coaster. One side is green, the other is red. As long as the green side is showing, waiters come around offering various cuts of every kind of meat imaginable. When you are full, flip to the red side and take a breather. The meat is obscenely delicious and you can sit there as long as you want. There is also an unlimited salad/veggie bar for those of you who aren't pure carnivores.

Oh. My. Gosh. This place sounds perfect!

This UES establishment is renown for it's classic Italian cuisine and fancy decor. Paola's even has outdoor seating (if your dad's into that). Paola's is one of those places that even born-and-raised Italians rave about. The flavor is rich and the food is filling. I highly recommend the fried artichokes. Make a reservation for Father's Day far in advance to ensure your spot at the table.
